A new mystery novel by satirist Andrew Shaffer titled Hope Never Dieskicks off the book series set to chronicle the former leaders' amateur detective work. In this installment, the two sleuth to solve the murder of Biden's favorite Amtrak conductor.

Though this might sound like a monotonous addition to the mountain of political comedy being peddled these days, Shaffer ensures his story is far from another Trump joke.

In an interview with The New York Times, Shaffer commented, "It’s not a parody of action movies or thrillers, and it’s not a satire of their politics. It’s just a mystery novel starring these two well known characters, who just happen to be in the public domain."

Obama and Biden will fill the archetypal roles of Sherlock and Holmes, respectively – but with some added oomph, it seems. Personally, I don't remember Benedict Cumberbatch ever brandishing a sawed-off shotgun to rescue his companion from a biker gang. But, maybe I just wasn't watching closely enough.
